Directions to the Tenants Union
If you’re taking the bus
If you are taking a bus from downtown Seattle you can take the 7. Bus routes 48, 9, 47, 50, 39, 19 and 42 also run close to the office. From the 7 or 9 get off at Brandon Street or Lucile Street. The office is in a gray building on the corner of S. Lucile Street and Rainier Ave S. It is across the street from Veldyke Properties. Please be careful crossing the street, as there is no crosswalk and cars drive very quickly on Rainier.
For more specific information about bus routes go to Metro’s website.
If you’re driving:
From South King County take 167 North all the way into South Seattle. The Tenants Union is in the Hilman City Neighborhood of the Rainier Valley. The office is a gray building a few blocks North of the stoplight at Orcas Street, on the corner of S. Lucile Street and Rainier Ave S. It is across the street from Veldyke Properties. You can park on Lucile Street or in the parking lot on the other side of the building. Please park on the side farthest from the building.
From 1-5, either North or South take the Columbian Way Exit. Columbian Way will wind you up and over Beacon Hill. It changes names, first to 15th Ave South, then back to Columbia Way, and then to Alaska Avenue South. The trick is to stay on the main drag. If you get off on to a residential street you’ve made a wrong turn. At the bottom of the hill you’ll hit Rainier Ave. Turn right on Rainier. Go about a half mile. The office is a gray building about five blocks after the light at Hudson Street, on the corner of S. Lucile Street and Rainier Ave S. It is across the street from Veldyke Properties. You can park on Lucile Street or in the parking lot on the other side of the building. Please park on the side farthest from the building.
If you’re mobility-impaired
The Lucile Street entrance is the most accessible. There are currently two steps. We are in the process of constructing a ramp for those two steps. In the meantime we apologize for the obstruction. If you need services and can’t get up the steps please call and we’ll make arrangements to accomodate your disability. Also, our bathroom is not currently easily wheelchair accessible.
